Methodology and source policy
How BetDude verifies betting brands, selects sources, controls outbound links, derives categories, audits freshness, and handles corrections.
Inclusion standard
A brand is published only when accepted primary evidence connects its consumer-facing identity to a regulated operator and reviewed destination domain. Each profile must also contain operator-controlled evidence supporting at least one current factual statement about the brand or its account controls.
Unverified aggregator listings, affiliate redirects and copied third-party descriptions are not sufficient for publication.
Verification workflow
- Identify: normalize the consumer brand name and proposed canonical domain.
- Reconcile: match the brand, operator, domain and active remote licence or authorisation in an accepted regulator record.
- Corroborate: review operator-controlled material for factual brand information and safer-gambling controls.
- Publish: generate a static profile with citations, review dates, licence identifiers and a controlled outbound route.
- Audit: re-run regulator imports, validation, tests and URL freshness checks before releases and during scheduled maintenance.
Source hierarchy
BetDude prioritizes regulator registers, regulator-published datasets and operator-controlled legal, licensing or safer-gambling pages. A source supports only the fact attached to it; it does not convert the full profile into a recommendation.

Outbound-link policy
Brand pages do not expose editorial citations as clickable external links. Each profile has one controlled visit link, routed through BetDude to the canonical destination reconciled with accepted evidence. This keeps stale destinations centralized and auditable.
If a future link carries a commercial relationship, it must be recorded separately and labelled with the appropriate sponsored disclosure. Commercial terms do not determine directory inclusion or editorial facts.
Categories and jurisdictions
Product categories are derived from regulator-recorded licensed activities and narrowly scoped operator evidence. Jurisdiction pages group brands by the accepted regulator record represented in the current dataset. Neither classification guarantees that a specific product is available or lawful for a particular visitor.
Freshness, corrections and removals
Review dates describe the evidence snapshot, not a guarantee of real-time status. Automated checks classify inaccessible sources separately from confirmed dead URLs so anti-bot or regional restrictions do not silently erase valid evidence.
Profiles are corrected or removed when the identity, regulated operator, active status or official destination can no longer be reconciled. To report a material error, email [email protected] with the brand, disputed fact and supporting primary source.
Editorial boundaries
BetDude does not currently score operators, rank bonuses, reproduce promotional claims, assess payment speed, publish customer-review ratings or determine legality for individual users. Visitors should independently confirm current licence status, local law, terms and safer-gambling options.
